Many thanks, the height was putting us off a little but we thought "what the hell" and gave it a go.
I caught it on an Intruder, a pattern usually associated with steelhead but I've been fishing them this season to give them a go and looks like they might work here too. It was a black one fished on an S3 tip.

Not unlike a Michael Frodin creation really. Rob

After Paul's tip off, I thought I'd have another go this morning. Ok, not exactly a bar of stainless steel, but not too bad for late season, and I'll take what I can get! About 6 or 7lb, on a Mepps.

Nice Ben! Well, I made my first trip overseas in a few years but the steelhead were great fun!

Well done Pete. Those steelhead really go and should never be considered as just another rainbow. They are considered a real "trophy"fish over in BC and the States and are generally released. Here are a couple I had on my recent trip to Vancouver Island. Colin.

A good chum salmon from Vancouver Island. We had a good few of these from fifteen to 20+ pound. Good solid fight but not so lively as the coho we hooked. Colin.

Colin, congrats on a successful trip to Canada. BC is certainly a beautiful place.
If you, or anyone on the board are ever in the Toronto area, feel free to contact me. There’s some excellent fishing in the Great Lakes region, regardless of your preferred fish, season dependent of course.
Steelhead are in the rivers from Fall to Spring, and Salmon in the Fall.
