As above great read as always, I don't have the discipline to pace myself and read the whole issue in one go as usual. The Yeo has risen slightly but I haven't fished it for a while as it looked really low leaning over the bridge in Yeoford but the Okement above Meldon is still at a good level (and the water feels cool compared to the Yeo) even the reservoir is still pretty full not sure why as normally there would be lots of bank showing by now allowing more fishing opportunities. Anyone know how the other moorland rivers are holding up?

Thanks everyone, it does mean a lot when you take the time to let me know you've enjoyed it.
Pleased the summer piece was of interest too. Typically, once I'd written it the rain came but it is more than welcome.
I mentioned the quote about "fish deserve the sanctity of deeper water" as when I heard it, it made me think about a lot of things and how it seems we often worry about not blanking but don't give much of a thought about the conditions for the fish and perhaps it might be fairer not to beat up a pool too much and take what we think is fair and move on.
Pusser, it's in the next one!

Enjoying reading it - Liked your article on cane Pusser. Paul Thanks Paul I really enjoyed writing it and, now reading it back after a couple of months, it seems to flow OK too. You get a mention, I hope you noticed (not by name, but by association)

As always fantastic Pete.. I read your book review before I went into work this morning... and came home to find my copy had arrived in the post... only scanned it so far, but looks comprehensive and easy to follow the diagrams which I had wondered about. Even more pleasing is the quality of the actual book.. you can actually feel just how much time and effort has gone into it. I’ll delve deeper this eve

It is a cracker isn't it. I'll have a sit down and a good long read of it. I like the way it is very easy to dip in and out of too.

Pete I don't know how you manage to produce such a good issue every month ( I reckon this one is one of the best yet ) but I'm so glad you do. Thanks for taking the trouble it is appreciated. Terry

Hi Terry,
Many thanks, it does take some doing at times but is a true labour of love.
I can't believe we'll be celebrating our sixth birthday next month.
When people take the time to write it really does make it worthwhile so thank you.

Pleased you like it, I was thinking of having some new tees made up with "civilians: definition - those that don't fly fish" sounds good Pete , years ago in the then Anglers Rest ( now the Fingle Bridge Inn) there was a sign up saying " Take a friend fishing" to which the lady behind the bar had added " But make sure his flies are fastened!", I always thought that would make a good T shirt ( one statement on each side).

Like it, I always remember an ad Hardy had years back that had some of their tippet laid out and it said "lead me to your taker" thought that was simple but really clever.

I published ESF early yesterday and hit the river for a fish and forgot to post that there is a new ESF in town and I can't believe that my little baby is now 6 years old. Time flies! eat-sleep-fish.co.uk/

Another good read . I particularly liked the rod review by the young lad. We need to get more youngsters interested in this great sport of ours. Must try over the winter to write up an article. Colin.
